Kindrey Rowland, Speech-Language Pathologist, understands the complex nature of rehabilitation for people living with acquired brain injury and stroke. She approaches individuals and their families with optimism and a “can do”, “whatever it takes” approach.

Kindrey has provided community based services to children and adults living with acquired brain injury and stroke in Dufferin, Grey Bruce, Peel and South Simcoe for 20 years through her private practice, the Orangeville Speech & Language Clinic. Kindrey is an award winning Speech-Language Pathologist, graduating first in her class both academically and clinically in 1995 (University of Western Ontario).  Kindrey was recently honoured by the Ontario Brain Injury Association as a nominee for an Award of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation. Kindrey was selected as a nominee for the category of Health Care Provider of the Year, 2015.

Kindrey is chair of the Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (OSLA) Acquired Brain Injury Interest Group and a member of OSLA’s Auto Insurance Interest Group. Kindrey is also a member of the Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA). She is a founding and steering committee member of the Headwaters Acquired Brain Injury Group (HABI), a local support group and OBIA pilot project. She is also a member of the Ontario Rehab Alliance (ORA).  Kindrey is a licensed service provider with FSCO allowing her to bill motor vehicle accident insurance directly.

Kindrey believes that every individual and family is unique. She will carefully develop an evidenced-based therapy plan centred on your individual needs and goals. Kindrey will work collaboratively with your rehabilitation team and family members.

Kindrey’s approach to communication treatment following acquired brain injury is always focused on helping children and adults succeed and feel confident in everyday life. She will work to help you increase your participation and independence in activities that are important to you. Along with your rehabilitation team, Kindrey will help you to promote success at school, work or other meaningful activities, to establish and maintain friendships and to increase independence in daily and community activities.

A full range of cognitive-communication assessment, treatment and consultation services are available in the home, workplace, school, community or at our accessible clinic. Cognitive-communication assessment services include identification of cognitive-communication strengths and weaknesses and their functional implications, selection of functional treatment goals and development of recommendations. Cognitive-communication treatment and consultation services are individualized, meaningful, functional, co-ordinated with the individual’s rehabilitation team, involve family and significant others, and include measurable outcomes.
